50/365: ITTY BITTY TITTY COMMITTEE (2007)
Directed by: Jamie Babbit
Stars: Melonie Diaz, Ana Mercedes and Cecile Rivore
Rating: ★★★

“Anna is a young lesbian high school graduate who still lives with her parents, and works as a receptionist in a plastic surgeon’s office. She embarks on a wild ride when she hooks up with a cadre of ultra-radical feminist lesbians hell-bent on raising hell. But things get even more complicated when Anna falls in love with Sadie, the radical group’s leader who’s already involved with an older woman named Courtney.”

This was my second time seeing IBTC. The first time I loved it but now being a bit more film savvy, I have a few complaints. I love lesbian films. Love them. I even love radical feminists especially when they go by the name of “Clits in action”. It’s all really lovely. The thing is, though, Melonie Diaz was absolutely terrible. Absolutely terrible. It threw the whole movie off. I wanted to beat her character over the head with one of Meat’s crafted penises. She was just that bad. I think if they casted someone else to play Anna, the film would be 10x better. Besides that, the film was really fun and upbeat. It gives us a look into the oppression of women as well as queer politics. I was especially surprised by the appearance of Daniela Sea who played a role similar to the one she played in The L Word.

I love this movie <3
